Once Upon A Time...
Our Mitchell House story started in 2011 when my daughter Kelly got engaged. Lake Martin is our family's favorite place on earth and Kelly knew instantly she had to find a venue close to the lake. A friend recommended The Mitchell House (previously named Ginkgo Manor because of the majestic 100 year old Ginkgo Tree gracing the front yard). After touring this historic home and grounds we all fell in love and it proved to be the perfect location and setting for her dream wedding. In June 2019, God blessed us with the opportunity to purchase this magnificent home and share it with the world.
I grew up on Lake Martin and I'm proud to say our family has a five generation history in this area. My Grandparents owned one of the very first Russell cabins and my parents owned a home in Parker Creek. Mike and I built our home in Stillwaters 17 years ago and now our two daughters and their family, which includes three grandchildren, have joined us here permanently to continue the tradition.
Since purchasing this venue, we have added a permanent Event Tent that can accommodate large parties and provide our guests comfort and piece of mind, rain or shine. We continue to improve on the conveniences including hair and makeup stations for the guests to get ready. This has been a labor of love and we are thrilled to share this historic venue and help make your wedding or special event a treasured memory that lasts a lifetime.
It would be our pleasure to set up a private tour of The Mitchell House.
