We have completed our 3500 Sq ft. enclosed Pavilion and it is Absolutely beautiful! It has 3 bathrooms, prep kitchen and brand new crossback chairs , a covered walk way and sit down sitting for 225.
Our Story
Once Upon A Time…
My story with The Mitchell House began in 2011 when my daughter Kelly got engaged. Lake Martin has always been my favorite place on earth, and she knew she wanted a venue close to the lake.
A friend recommended The Mitchell House—then known as Ginkgo Manor, named for the majestic century-old ginkgo tree that still graces the front lawn. From the moment we stepped onto the property, I fell in love. The historic home, the grounds, the timeless charm—it was everything she had dreamed of and more. It became the perfect setting for her wedding, and I never forgot that feeling.
In June 2019, I was blessed with the opportunity to purchase this incredible property and begin a new chapter—sharing it with others as they celebrate life’s most meaningful moments.
Rooted in Lake Martin
Lake Martin isn’t just where I live—it’s part of who I am. I grew up here, and my family has five generations rooted in this area. From my grandparents’ Russell cabin to my parents’ home in Parker Creek, to the home we built in StillWaters, this place has always been home.
Today, my daughters and grandchildren are here as well, continuing that tradition—and it makes being able to share The Mitchell House with others even more meaningful.
Evolving with Purpose
When I first began hosting events, I started with a tented space. It worked—but I knew it could be better.
So I built something more.
Today, The Mitchell House features a 3,500-square-foot enclosed pavilion designed to elevate every event. Fully enclosed, heated, and air-conditioned, it allows for seamless, comfortable celebrations year-round—no matter the weather.
The pavilion includes:
Three private restrooms
A prep kitchen for catering
Elegant crossback seating
A covered walkway
Seating for up to 225 guests
It’s where historic charm meets modern convenience—perfect for weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, and special gatherings.

Every detail you see has been thoughtfully created and carefully considered, from the guest experience to the finishing touches that make each event feel special. This isn’t just a business to me—it’s something I take personal pride in, and it shows in every event hosted here.
